Rumor has it

Rumor has it that Jeff Tweedy will be making a special appearance with Golden Smog at The Vic Theatre in Chicago tomorrow (Tues Sept 19th.) It will be Tweedy's first apperance on the tour. And speaking of Tweedy, here's the trailer for his forthcoming live dvd.

Saw the Vic show- it was almost 2.5 hours of the best of golden smog... but when they jumped into bowie's starman- my mind was blown by the stage full of guitars and 5 part harmonies that only that group could pull of with the charm & goof that makes the Smog the best alt supergroup EVER. Multiple duets of just Tweedy & Louris were heartbreaking in knowing you may never see these two songwriters-to-the-gods (ok, im i HUGE fan, can you tell) perform together like this again. Gary Louris can play the electric guitar with the best of them, and Tweedy showed us that he is more than a rock icon- you could see his profound classical guitar background in his acoustic solos. Kraig Johnson kept everyone laughing with his on-stage antics- making jokes, dancing around, or "crossing swords" with Gary. Dan Murphy's voice was just a strong and his guitar style just as recognizable as the first time you heard Smog. And when the entire group (O'reagan's band in tow) jumped on stage for the finale- it was a wall of sound with Sim Cain (what a drum machine!) holding it steady. And of course leaving evyone wanted more Smog. sigh. Please and now?
