Peter Bjorn And John @ Mercury Lounge

After taping their stint on Conan O'Brien, Swedish pop trio, Peter, Bjorn, & John played Mercury Lounge in New York on Monday. This show was supposed to be the band's first live appearance in New York, but a secret show at Brooklyn's Union Hall on Sunday night made it their second.
Those who were lucky enough to score tickets to this sold out show (including Drew Barrymore, who was on the guest list) were treated to a dynamic, high-energy performance. The set list included a mix of old and new songs, including "Big Black Coffin," "The Chills," "Paris 2004," "Amsterdam," and "Up Against The Wall." Victoria Bergsman joined the boys onstage for crowd favorite, "Young Folks" off their upcoming album, Writer's Block. While most of the crowd didn't understand PB&J's inter-song banter (they converse with each other in Swedish), it was pretty hard to discount the intense peppiness of their live set. - Rebecca Silverstein
