  • Produced by Death Cab For Cutie's Chris Walla, guest players include Jason McGerr from DCFC on drums, and Matt Sharp from The Rentals/Weezer and Hunter Burgan from AFI on bass (Sharp on Sara's songs, Burgan on Tegan's.)
  • Written while the twin sisters were apart, resting after touring the highly acclaimed 2004 album So Jealous.
  • The record sounds a little more mature than the duo's past works, which makes complete sense, as the duo is maturing. Duh. (They're 26 now, mind you.) But it also sounds a little more melancholy than past efforts, which could be a result of the sisters being apart from each other while writing. Or a result of the state of the world. Or their dog died. Who knows?
  • Track 3, "The Con," takes a little influence from touring partners The Killers and Hot Hot Heat, with a synth-driven "hook" that's not quite prominent enough to be called a hook but is still pretty catchy.
  • Track 5, a darker number with frantic beats and overlapping vocals, could almost be an indie rap song, but in a serious way.
  • Track 6, "Back In Your Head," and 7, "Hop A Plane," are a little bit poppier and carefree-er, but we're probably not likely to hear them at baseball games, like we did "Walking With a Ghost."
  • The trio of Track 9, "Burn Your Life Down," Track 10, "Nineteen," and Track 11 "Floorplan," have more stylistic elements than anything they've ever done, and sound a little fuller than anything else on the record.
  • Track 13, "Dark Come Soon," sounds pretty produced and it's likely we'll be hearing it on Grey's Anatomy.
