EELS Produce Shortest Super Bowl Ad Ever

Always one to subvert the norm, EELS head-honcho E has announced plans to air the shortest Super Bowl ad ever! Given that the ad breaks for Super Bowl XLII cost roughly $100,000 a second, EELS plan to have a five second TV spot they recorded announcing "Useless Trinkets out now" cut down to just one second for the highly watched Super Bowl TV advertising slot – so don’t blink during the ad breaks!
Both the one second commercial and the full five second version will be broadcast on YouTube, and we’ll post them up on Monday morning.
EDIT - Here's the 1 second clip
And the 5 second clip

E never ceases to amaze me unfortunately I must have blinked during the superbowl because I missed the commercial!! but I hope that plenty of people did see it and have the urge to go and buy their rarities album because the EELS are freaking amazing.

unfortunately the ad ended up not airing as the station said they couldn't have a one second ad with out selling the other 29 seconds individually as well.. or something along those lines anyway. Too bad those fools cant see the humor or art behind the whole idea. They surely could have fit an extra 1 second ad in there somewhere... b.s. really, but a great idea I wish they could have pulled off!!

of course you can't just buy a 1 second clip of advertisement. that's just silly. such a gimmick to get them press. i guess it worked.

Actually, this year's Superbowl aired a 1/2 second Ivar's commercial making it the shortest ever.
