game Contra will get a kick out of this. Go on Facebook and type
(using the arrow keys) up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right,
enter, right click. After that, magic circles will appear and won't go
away until you log off or reload the page. Obviously the folks at
Facebook are old-school Nintendo geeks. Next, they should make it
possible to type in 007-373-5963 so Mike Tyson's Punch Out face pops
up.
If you're not too familiar with UK street artist, The Decapitator you might want to pay attention! Much like other street artists who take advantage of their surroundings and use existing spaces as canvases, The Decapitator rocks and rolls...literally. His gory signature mark comes from beheading the individuals, whether famous or not, on street advertisements he finds. His latest victims include electronic masters, Daft Punk and pop star, Shakira on the cover of Rolling Stone.

The folks over at the Indie label, Ghostly International, created this pretty cool iPhone app that allows users to listen and discover music based of of your mood. Select your mood setting on their color coded mood wheel then pick your bpm, and preference on organic or digital tunes. The app then searches throught the Ghostly catalog and puts together a playlist to fit your current mood settings. A nice way to introduce fans to new music and did we mention its a free app?
Sure iTunes has its somewhat similar Genius option for making playlists, but Genius only guesses based on a selected artist/track and doesn't always pull together the best "like" artist for that perfect party playlist.

The Cold War Kids recently came out with a new interactive video for the single, "I've Seen Enough." As the music video plays, online viewers can click on each member of the band stopping and starting their part of the song. Viewers can also select four different tracks for each member changing different instruments, and changing the style each member plays their part of the same song. Pretty interesting, check it out here and see for yourself.
Battling the current state recession, depression, job cuts, etc… some creative folks are taking it upon themselves to find new unique ways to battle the job market, or lack there of.
Internships, essential if you’re looking for that foot in the door into any company/industry… one company is taking upon themselves to help out their interns in not only gaining some more experience, but also get some money too! Crispin Porter & Bogusky, the agency behind those Volkswagen and Burger King ads to name a few, are auctioning off their interns on ebay. The highest bidder will receive 3 months of work from CPB’s team of interns, with all proceeds going to the intern’s payroll.
On the other side of the spectrum, job cuts are taking away opportunities for many unfortunate workers. One creative fella dealt with their recent layoff by creating http://www.cardsofchange.com/. A site that allows recently laid off workers to post their old business cards online, with their new contact info written over the card in hopes of connecting them with new potential customers/partners. The site promotes that everything has a positive effect, allowing people to write on their old cards something positive that has happened to them since their pink slip.
