while solon and davey and ashley were fast asleep..
i went on a morning run ...and boston is beautiful.
there is only one problem with running outside....
....the lack of public restrooms.
the moment came when i had to go.....
i looked to the left , and i realized that there was this little well know campus right there...
oh you may have heard of it..it's called harvard.
right there..
shining in the rainy sky.
i decided to go for it..
i walked the halls of harvard JUST to pee in the bathroom..
pretty rad!
i think my iq went up about 6 points...
there is something amazing about walking down a hallway filled with such history....
i stayed and just sat on a bench in the hallway...and took it all in.
i think that school is "out" right now..so attendance was sparce..but you could still feel the energy...
pretty amazing.
i called solon to see what everyone was doing...and they were all still sleeping. so i kept going!
there is also a gorgeous river that runs along the city of cambridge and into downtown boston.
as i was running ..
i kept thinking.. what is all this green poo from?
then in the distance ..
there were about 100 canadian geese..
they are so amazing..
with their babies and with each other..they have these really amazing grey colors and black masks on their eyes...
there is a whole order of things like humans have..but probably much more organized and with less ego.
anyway..
they have green poo..
because they eat only green stuff..
i am going to try this..
and see if it works ...when i finally came back to the days inn...and into our room, ashley had gone to get her usual mcdonald's breakfast...
davey his starbucks..
and solon his usual..
still sleeping till the last possible moment..
if they only knew ..what they missed

the middle east where we played was awesome....
and the virb guys came out again and they ruuuuuuuule.

You Can Take The Boy has the scandalous details of the Boston show!
...Everything was coming up nipples at Great Northern’s show at the Middle East in Cambridge: singer/guitarist Solon Bixler was worried about showing his off to the crowd thanks to an extremely low-cut v-neck t-shirt, so he tried covering them up with a pair of black suspenders; and singer/keyboardist Rachel Stolte narrowly avoided a Janet Jackson-like wardrobe malfunction of her own. Oh, right: there was also one heck of a concert going on, and the good news is that Great Northern are just as good, if not better, on stage than they are on disc...
Hey- Ashley here, once again, to remind the world that some bands really can have their cake and it eat too. The past couple shows in both Buffalo and Albany, NY have been totally fun! We've gotten very lucky lately in terms of sound quality. & I think we've all learned to never judge a club by its cover...some of the smallest, smelliest and dirtiest venues get the most amazing sounds we've heard live.
The Comas are quickly becoming our very good friends. They not only know how to rock (I seriously saw some guy jumping up so hard during their set that I thought he was going to cause the entire concrete second-floor to cave in), but they also understand our undying love for such things as nacho cheese and ranch dressing. I kid you not, when we order dinner from anywhere, every member of Great Northern asks for "extra ranch." It doesn't matter if it already comes with ranch dressing, cus that's simply never enough. You might as well inject the stuff into our veins, it's that bad. I think it's safe to say that the GN crew are officially condiment whores.
Did you ever know how easy it is to walk over to Canada? Yesterday, we got the amazing experience of taking in Niagara Falls, which was truly breath-taking, as they say. But the best part about it is that, in order to better view it, you have to cross or stand upon this one bridge- which once you are standing upon, you're officially in Canada. We literally walked about 100 yards into Canada, viewed the falls and turned back. If you walk 2 feet into Canada, you better have that passport and an alibi once you turn around. after being hassled for 10 minutes for not having one, the security guard told us, "if you're going into Canada, GO INTO Canada." hah!
