Tegan and Sara Fodder

In a recent article in NY Mag, identical twins Tegan and Sara discussed physical oddities at their Terminal 5 show in New York City.  Known for long-winded banter in between songs, the Canadian sisters talked about their differing characteristics: one being Tegan's droopy eye denoted here by a red "X".  Hey, at least now we can tell 'em apart!  Read more about their dissimilarities in Ragged #3!

Kate Nash Does Black Kids

Kate Nash has been known to collaborate with her musical cohorts -- First Billy Bragg at SXSW, now London up-and-comers Black Kids.  Their hit song "I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance" is blowing up so much, it caught the attention of Columbia record execs and piqued the interest of the lovely Kate who previously toured with them.  Her Peanuts-style piano playing is the perfect complement to the cheerleader chants of "1, 2, 3, 4!"  Check it out and don't forget to read up on Kate Nash in the current issue of Ragged (it's free)!

Phantom Planet New Video 'Do the Panic'

SoCal natives Phantom Planet have revealed a new video for their latest single "Do the Panic."  The quasi-morbid video juxtaposes the band's normally chipper sound with dismembered limbs.  You heard right - limbs!  The quartet's latest album befittingly titled Raise the Dead is racing up the charts after its release just last week.  Not to toot our own horn or anything, but could it possibly have to do with these guys gracing the cover of the very first issue of RaggedSee for yourself (it's free!).

Grand Ole Party Live @ Irving Plaza 4/12/08

Gop_14

Grand Ole Party
's performance Saturday night at New York's Irving Plaza was nothing short of smashing.

Opening for Rogue Wave, the San Diego trio blew everyone away with a killer set which consisted mostly of tracks from their debut album, Humanimals. A few notable crowd pleasers of the night were "INSANE" and "Look Out Young Son."

When watching any GOP live show, it's nearly impossible not to be drawn in by the extremely powerful magnetic force which is lead singer/drummer Kristin Gundred. Before the show, the petite musician walked throughout the crowd unnoticed, but when she took the stage and sat behind her drum kit, people couldn't look away from her. Delivering each biting lyric with loud, passionate vocals and drum beats to match, Gundred had the crowd eating out of the palms of her hands. People RSVPed for a rocking, energetic show and Grand Ole Party delivered.
